Laxven Speed Recorders are designed to provide a reliable and accurate record of speed, time and distance parameters of a locomotive on which it is mounted. They can be powered from the DC voltage available in the locomotive. They are suitable for voltage variations between 50 -140 V and is thus fit for application on all Indian Railway dc/ac Electrical multiple Locomotives. The speed recording system produces a record of speed Vs distance, Speed Vs Time, etc. traveled by the locomotive on a Non Volatile Memory at two places for higher redundancy for any post-incident analysis. The system also provides digital display of various parameters and sounds audio-visual alarms on exceeding set speed limits and certain malfunctions of the system. There are two driver cabs on the locomotive. One side of the driver cab is fitted with Microcontroller based Speed Recorder cum Indicator and the other side of the driver cab is fitted with Micro controller based speed Indicator only. The communication between these two units is through RS 485 communication protocol. These two units are provided with the LCD display and alphanumeric keypad for entering the driver and locomotive parameters. There are few warning LED’s along with audible alarm, which alert the driver on deviating some of the specified parameters. Special features (Optional) like open-collector outputs for speed, distance parameters, are available which are programmable through key pad.

LAX-2000D is a Microcontroller based speed Recorder cum Indicator unit with the memory capacity of 8 Hours of 1 sec data and 45 days of 20 sec interval data in a circular form First – in – Last out on a PCMCIA Card. The data can be downloaded through a RS 232 serial port from a memory reader unit.
LAX 2000-D3 is also Microcontroller based speed Recorder cum Indicator unit with a memory capacity of 12 hours of 1 sec interval data and 90 days of 20 sec Interval data in a circular form (First –in- last out) on a Compact flash card.
LAX 2000-D8 is the latest model, which is also Microcontroller based speed Recorder cum Indicator unit with Pen Drive and USB Facility. The system is capable of recording data of last 12 hours of 1 sec interval data and 120 days of 20 sec Interval data in a circular form (First –in- last out) on a Compact flash card. |
